I Will Travel at the Proper Speed

There is a place that I want to get to.
I have tried to get there before, but my pace was far too fast.
I miss the fork, or the left turn,
and I end up further from my destination than ever before.
Still other times I have walked slowly in my attempts
to reach this grand locale.
Sometimes I've walked too slow.
So slow that I forget what journey I'm on,
and I end up in a zone that no man wants to be in.
I will travel this road many times,
and occasionally I will travel at the proper speed.
